With the Abbe refractometer, you have a tabletop device to quickly and accurately determine the refractive index nD between 1.300 and 1.700 as well as the sugar content of liquids, dispersions, emulsions... and other translucent substances. Using the thermometer supplied with the refractometer, the refractive index can be determined for a temperature range of 0 ... 70 ºC. For temperature regulation, the refractometer has, on both sides of the upper and lower prism holder, adapters for water hoses, allowing temperature control via external thermostats. Thus, you can use the Abbe refractometer for the precise determination of sugar content in the range of 0 ... 95% (1.333 ... 1.531). But the area of application is much broader: measurement and analysis of fats, oils, paints, coatings, food, chemicals, alcohol, and solvents.
