The PCE-322 A sound level meter is especially suitable as instrumentation for noise control measurements in the fields of industry, healthcare, safety, and environmental monitoring to control noise pollution. The sound level meter has a logging function that allows you to store up to 262,100 readings, enabling long-term measurements with this tester. The measured values with the sound level meter can be transferred to your laptop or PC via a USB cable. The sound level meter software provides data visualization in the form of tables and graphs. The zoom function gives you more detailed analytics of sound measurement values. The sound level meter can also transfer stored measurement values to calculation programs, such as MS Excel. Its equipment features, such as the mini tripod and integrated analog output, make this sound level meter unique in its class.

Electret microphone

The PCE-322A sound level meter features an electret microphone. It is a variant of the condenser microphone, which uses the lasting effect of electrostatic polarization through a laminar electrode, thus requiring no power supply. Between the condenser plates, on the membrane or on the back plate, there is a laminar electrode, in which the polarization of the membrane has been 'frozen'. The electret is a material that is electrically charged in a lasting manner. These microphones make up 90% of the market, being the most manufactured and used. They are also integrated, for example, in mobile phones or portable recorders. The frequency response of these microphones can be as sound pressure receivers (microphones with spherical characteristics) from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Our sound level meter has been built with a microphone with a maximum frequency of 8 kHz.
