Our portable durometer is used to quickly and independently check the surface hardness of metallic materials. In the metallurgical sector, it is very important to know the hardness of the material being used and thus be able to verify the hardness data provided by the manufacturer. The durometer provides Rockwell B & C, Vickers HV, Brinell HB, Shore HS, and Leeb HL parameters. 

This durometer is very useful in production, quality control, and technical service due to its mobility. Its compact design and battery operation make this device very easy to use. The PCE-1000 durometer can be used in all positions and does not have data transmission to a PC or internal memory.

Measurement principle of the durometer:

The dynamic measurement procedure uses the difference between the rebound speeds of a small impact body. This is launched in the impact instrument by means of a tensioned spring to the surface of the metal piece.

This procedure was developed in 1978 by Mr. Leeb, from which the name of the Leeb hardness unit (HL) comes.

Measurement conditions:

- Minimum measurement surface 10 mm x 10 mm

- Minimum radius of curvature of the measuring surface r = 30 mm without adapter,

  with screwable adapter with V-slot, the minimum curvature radius is 11 mm

- Workpieces weighing less than 5 kg and thin wall thickness (< 5 mm) should be
