Easy to use

Measurements with the Wile 65 are simple and quick. The meter is operated using two buttons and has an easy-to-read display that serves as a guide while measurements are taken. The display shows the type of grain and helps make necessary adjustments before the measurement. A quick reference guide can be found on the side of the meter to remind users of the basic steps for measuring grain.

The meter is ready to measure once the correct grain type has been selected. The measurement is performed simply by filling the device with grain, compressing it with the help of the lid, and pressing the test button. Measuring is extremely easy and fast. The Wile 65 always displays the temperature of the grain sample and also has a special connector for an additional external temperature probe (W651) that can be used for various types of grain measurements, silages, compost, and other substances. When using the external temperature probe, the results are displayed in large numbers on the screen.

Wile meters also have a basic measurement scale that offers nominal measurement values. This scale can primarily be used to calibrate the equipment and also to create and use other scales to measure grains different from the 16 that are already pre-programmed in its memory. This can be done with the help of conversion tables that are available for various additional types of grain.

The accuracy of the meter is based on a basic and robust design that has been achieved over years of constant development and deep knowledge of measurements in grains from different areas and crops.

Mode of Use

To achieve the best levels of accuracy and repeatability, the grain sample must be normalized. In the Wile meter, the grain sample is compressed to improve its uniformity. This makes the measurement extremely precise compared to other open cell meters on the market.

User Adjustable Correction

All Wile humidity meters are individually calibrated under controlled temperature conditions before leaving the factory in Finland. Over the years, due to heavy rains or extreme harvest conditions, the properties of the seeds may differ substantially from those of the reference grain. In these cases, the user can apply a correction to match the results with those of a reference instrument, those of another trader, or preferably with those of a standardized oven test. The correction is temporary and does not affect the basic scale programmed in the instrument's memory.

Automatic Temperature Compensation

The Wile 65 meter has two temperature sensors, one on the electronic circuit board and another inside the measuring cell. These sensors compensate for temperature differences between the sample and the meter itself, automatically correcting the presented humidity value. This function ensures the best accuracy in moisture measurements of grains and seeds.

The Wile 65 has the most common grain types stored in its memory and is specifically programmed to account for the differences in varieties from each region. In addition to the pre-programmed grain types, the Wile 65 can measure a wide variety of grains and products using separate moisture conversion tables.
