This causes the concentrations of sodium and chloride to increase, which in turn raises the electrical conductivity. The task of the Milk Checker is to detect these anomalies. Since subclinical mastitis does not develop simultaneously in all four udders, the Milk Checker automatically calculates the difference between the measurement values of the four udders and identifies the udder affected by mastitis. Subclinical mastitis is very difficult to identify, as it cannot be detected with the naked eye. Therefore, if it is not detected in time, your livestock could develop this disease. What is mastitis? Mastitis is an inflammatory disease that affects the udders. In most cases, it occurs when bacteria enter through the nipple canal into the udder. The body reacts to the proliferation of bacteria with inflammation. Depending on the type and amount of bacteria in the infection and the cow's immune status, different manifestations of inflammation can occur. Thus, the range of symptoms that may appear ranges from those that cannot be seen with the naked eye (subclinical mastitis) to reactions that can be clearly seen and may end in death (acute mastitis).
