Insulation Tester PKT-2675

High voltage insulation tester "Auto Ranging" / up to 400 MΩ / compact housing / battery powered / automatic capacitor discharge / inductance in measurement circuit

The high voltage insulation tester PKT-2675 detects insulation resistances of up to a maximum of 400 MΩ (with auxiliary voltages of 250, 500, and 1000 V). Additionally, this high voltage insulation tester operates with resistance measurement ranges from 3 to 500Ω. The warning signal emits a tone when a voltage >30V DC / 20V AC is detected between the test probes and the Test key has not yet been pressed. Furthermore, the "TEST VOLTAGE" LED lights up when the voltage between the test probes is >90 V DC or 65 V AC. The high voltage insulation tester PKT-2675 automatically facilitates AC current measurement. When an alternating voltage of 20 to 600 V occurs at the test probes, it is displayed on the linear scale. Definition of insulation resistance: Insulation resistance is the resistance in ohms in lines, cables, and electrical installations. It is of great importance in protecting people from electric shocks and preventing material damage from leakage currents. With insulation resistance measurements, it checks and evaluates the condition of insulation (conductors and housings).

Insulation measurements must be carried out in any new installation, renovations, changes, and repairs. As can be seen in the image on the left, it is essential to check insulation in rewinds and repairs of electric motors. It is also advisable to check motors after prolonged operation, as insulation measurement serves to assess lifespan, especially when adverse climatic conditions exist (tightness, water ingress). A usual test voltage value for low voltage motors and transformers is 1000 V.
