The PCE-PI 230 thermal imaging camera is a fully radiometric infrared measurement camera system for detecting and representing thermal images and temperature profiles of the objects to be observed. The PI230 thermal camera is at the forefront of technology thanks to the USB 2.0 interface, which allows real-time thermography with 96 images per second and synchronous recordings at 32 Hz, and because it can be used as a fixed installation and portable thermal imaging camera with excellent value for money. It can archive images through a series of snapshots or by capturing video sequences. The base of the PI230 thermal camera is a small bolometer (UFPA) of 160 x 120 pixels with a pixel size of 25 x 25 µm. The excellent thermal sensitivity enables the representation of the most subtle temperature details. Therefore, the PCE-PI 230 thermal camera is the optimal thermographic solution for applications in research and development, test stations, process automation, or for portable measurement tasks. The thermal camera connects to a computer via a USB cable and is ready for use immediately afterward. The temperature data from the thermal camera is transferred as thermal images to the included optris PI Connect software. Thanks to BI-SPECTRAL technology, it can combine a real image (VIS) with a thermal image (IR) through a visual channel and record them synchronously. The software allows remote control of the camera and also has a linear camera function, through which moving measurement objects can be observed within a process. Weighing only 250 g, the PI230 thermal camera is extraordinarily lightweight and one of the smallest thermal cameras in the world. In combination with a Tablet-PC, the thermal camera can even be used for preventive maintenance or thermography for buildings. The PCE-PI 230 thermal camera fills the existing gap between portable snapshot infrared cameras and fixed installation devices.
