The HI 98713-02 turbidity meter is an accurate meter with 3 measurement ranges. The HI 98713-02 turbidity meter complies with ISO 7027 and detects turbidity using the light scattering and transmitted light method. The lowest range of the turbidity meter and its accuracy allow turbidity measurement in the range of < 0.5 NTU, for example, for drinking water. Other application fields for the HI 98713-02 turbidity meter include the chemical industry and the beverage industry, as well as wastewater control. The internal memory of the turbidity meter can store 200 sets of measurement values. When using the "Tag Identification Systems," the measurement location with the respective values is stored directly in the turbidity meter's memory. The basic equipment of the i-Button, necessary for identifying the measurement location, is included in the shipment of the HI 98713-02 turbidity meter and can be expanded if necessary. To view the memory content in the HI 98713-02 turbidity meter, the display can always be used or the interfaces (RS232 or USB) can be used to transfer the data to a PC.

Measurement principle

The turbidimeter has an infrared LED (High Emission) as a light source. A photo sensor, positioned at a 90° angle to the measurement beam, receives the light reflected from the particles present in the measurement solution. The meter thus determines the turbidity in NTU. The common units of turbidity measurement NTU and FTU are in the 1:1 ratio for the FNU unit. (1 FNU = 1 NTU = 1 FTU).
