The low voltage porosity tester is a portable and independent network tester for locating pores and spot defects in electrically insulating layers on metallic substrates. The low voltage porosity tester works with the wet sponge method. A defined voltage is applied to a coating to be tested with a wet sponge. The conductive base is connected to the porosity tester via a measurement cable. The device works as a conductivity detector that responds to the difference between the resistance of the insulating layer and the water-filled pores. A wet sponge serves as a probe. Only those defective points that penetrate the coating to the bottom are detected. If a pore is detected in the coating, it fills with liquid and closes a circuit. This allows for an acoustic and optical indication. The low voltage porosity tester checks the test voltage with each activation. This ensures that it is always tested with the correct voltage. The test with the low voltage porosity tester (wet sponge method) is especially recommended for layers up to 500
