Decibel Meter PCE-MSM 3

Decibel meter for beginners for the industrial sector / A and C frequency weighting / 4-digit LCD display with sound level indicator / accuracy of ±1.4 dB /

measurement range of 30 ... 130 dB

The PCE-MSM 3 decibel meter features characteristics found only in more expensive meters. This high-precision decibel meter has a slim design and is ideal for optimal measurement of sound levels. With this decibel meter, you can easily and comfortably visualize measurement data of sounds from various environments such as workplaces, machine controls, construction sites, events, nightclubs, noise control in neighborhoods, etc. The decibel meter has a high measurement accuracy of ±1.4 dB, making it perfect for measurements in the previously described environments. The decibel meter is suitable for mobile measurements, as it is a handheld device powered by a battery. The decibel meter is a professional instrument that can be used both outdoors and indoors. In addition to its high accuracy, the decibel meter is very easy to use and performs measurements at high speed. For many people, noise has become a significant nuisance. In such cases, it is beneficial to be able to take measurements with a decibel meter. According to a representative study by the environmental department in Germany, one in five people suffers from noise disturbances. The PCE-MSM 3 decibel meter will help you locate the source of the noise and, after analyzing the results, take the necessary measures to minimize it.

The decibel meter features an electret microphone. This is a type of condenser microphone that takes advantage of the long-lasting electrostatic polarization of an electret film and therefore does not require any power supply. Between the capacitor plates, on the membrane or on the backplate, there is a laminar electrode, where the polarization of the membrane has been 'frozen'. The electret is a material that is electrically charged in a durable manner. These microphones constitute 90% of the market, being the most manufactured and used. They are also integrated, for example, in mobile phones or portable recorders. The frequency response of these microphones can be as sound pressure receivers (microphones with spherical characteristics) from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Our decibel meter has been built with a microphone with a maximum frequency of 8 kHz.
