The thickness gauge is a simple device for determining the thickness of textiles. The reproducibility of the measurement values of the thickness gauge is achieved thanks to the constant pressure force. ISO 5084 specifies the method for determining the thickness of textiles exposed to a certain pressure. This is not applicable for carpets, felts, and other coated fabrics. The thickness gauge for textiles can be easily converted to measure rubber thickness using two optional probes that comply with ISO 23529.
